How to Re-arm the MK5 Automatic
Inflator
Re-arming the UML Mk5 Automatic Inflator is quite simple.
- Ensure you have the correct re-arm kit for the model of lifejacket as lifejackets require different Co² Cylinders and automatic inflation mechanisms.
The re-arming kit will contain:
The correct Co² Cylinder type and size.
An Automatic Cartridge with the green indicator on.
A Manual Green Indicator.
- Always refer to the lifejacket instruction manual in conjunction with these instructions and keep to service intervals.
- Lifejackets should be regularly serviced by an authorised service agent.
- Re-arming kits should be kept on board for use after an emergency.
With the Co² cylinder at the top follow the steps below to re-arm:
- If the Automatic Indicator is missing, unscrew the cartridge in a clock wise direction and discard it before proceeding.
- Remove the Co² Cylinder from the firing head by unscrewing in an anti - clockwise direction. You will notice a hole were the cylinder has been pierced. Discard the used cylinder before proceeding.
- If the Manual Green indicator is missing, push the lever back in position and clip the indicator into place.
- Take the new automatic cartridge ensuring the green automatic indicator is in place and screw it onto the inflator head in an anti-clockwise direction. Screw cartrdige fully home ensuring there is no gap between the cartridge and inflator head and give a then do up as tightly as possible (hand tight).
- Check to ensure there is a white 'O' Ring or black washer at the bottom of the thread were Co² Cylinder screws in.
- Check the new Co² Cylinder has not been used and screw into the inflator body in a clockwise direction. Ensure the cylinder is screwed fully home as tightly as possible (hand tight).
Refer to manufactures instructions to repack the lifejacket correctly. |
